CLOSED DOORS

Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But our iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. Isaiah 59:1-2

Many people pray without result because prayer is not done according to Divine guidelines. A clear conscience is the assurance of answered prayer. Sin hinders access to God. Just as you cannot request anything from somebody whose telephone line you cannot access, you cannot request anything from God when you cannot access Him. Anything that defiles your conscience denies you access to receiving from Heaven.Ask God to reveal to you whatever is in your life that is hindering you from having access to Him.

Sin closes doors. Nothing closes the door to every breakthrough to life like sin. After Adam and Eve sinned, they were chased out of the Garden of Eden and the cherubim closed the door, Gen 3:24 ‘So he drove out man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.’ Before they were driven out, they enjoyed unhindered access to Divine presence; they came to the point of personal communion with God.

God usually came down to commune with Adam and Eve in the Garden. What a free access to Divinity. But the moment they sinned against God, that access was blocked and denied; they were driven from the presence of the Lord.

There was once a young man who decided to sleep with somebody’s wife. When he went to his place of work the next day, his boss, without knowing about the sin of immorality he committed the previous day, sacked him. This is a spiritual principle. May you never be the victim of closed doors through sin, in Jesus’ Name.

Sin makes a person feel defeated, that feeling of defeat and failure does not propel real progress; it frustrates progress.
