The meek will he guide in judgement: and the meek will he teach his way. Psalm 25:9
What is it that makes a person to profit from the Word? It is called meekness; a heart of meekness. It is a crucial condition for profiting from the Word. Meekness is a humble disposition towards instruction- a heart that is teachable, and reachable. That is what it takes for a man or a woman to profit from the Word.
What then is meekness? Meekness is the acceptance of ignorance. A meek man or woman agrees that he or she knows nothing. Whenever a man or a woman is not in such a condition at heart, instruction is not possible. Nobody is qualified for instruction by God who does not accepted his ignorance before God.
The acceptance of ignorance means, ‘Lord, i know nothing!’ It is the condition for profiting from the Word. Arrogance is the enemy of insight. Show me an arrogant person, I will show you a vacant person. He is empty of light- empty of instruction.
Show me an arrogant person, arrogant towards God and man; he will never go far. He will never be helped by God. The acceptance of ignorance is the condition for the instruction of God.
