I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. HABAKKUK 2:1-2

4.) Vision enhances longevity: When your heart is equipped to live, the forces of hell can’t squeeze you out of existence. A man is not fit to live who has no reason to live, to be around on earth for long, you must be able to see far into the future. virtually all the men who lived to an old age in the Bible were men of vision, they worked by vision. An example is Abraham. In Genesis 15, God spoke to Abraham in a vision and that vision kept him going. It looks to me like the more he pictured the promises of God, the more he was determined to live. Vision your self living long and God will bring it into establishment.
Another example is Caleb ( Joshua 14:6-12). Caleb envisioned himself possessing the mountain of the Anakims and I believe that was a core reason why he lived so long. So, have a vision of what God has promised you in the future, have a vision of achieving something in the future and no devil can be able to take you out before your time.
5.) Vision gives honour and dignity: Men of vision are men of honour. When you see a man of vision is clear to you, that he knows where he is going and your respect for him increases. 1 Samuel 22:1-2, ‘David therefore departed thence, and escaped to the cave Adullam: and when his brethren and all his father’s house heard it, they went down thither to him. And every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him; and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men.’
David was in the wilderness after he fled from Saul and all these people followed him there because they saw vision in him and a future. And they literally stayed with him all through out until he finally became king over Israel. Vision is different from ambition. Ambition is what you want to do, decision is what you have chosen to do, competition is an attempt to out do somebody or prove a point and reaction is the decision under pressure. All the above can be confused with vision. But what ever is not vision will only lead to confusion and frustration. Never be a reactionary but a visionary. Reaction will always be a reduction, but vision will always give you promotion. God bless you.
